My focus will be to educate and expand my knowledge of what the needs of our community are, and how we can best meet those needs in a fast-changing world.As Thomson Township grows, I will work to carefully assess our needs and develop thoughtful solutions that serve our residents today and into the future. I believe it is important to continue learning and adapting as our community changes.
Make Room for Conversation
I want to encourage good public discourse and conversation from the citizens of the township.A healthy township depends on trust between its staff, its board, and its residents. I will work to improve communication, transparency, and collaboration so that staff and the public can work together toward the shared goal of a strong Thomson Township.

I want to find efficiencies where possible and use the resources from our community wisely.I will work to identify areas where township processes can be made more efficient, saving time and resources for both staff and residents. Small improvements in how we operate day to day can make a big difference for our community.

As Thomson Township grows, it is important that our ordinances keep pace while still reflecting the values of our community.I will work to carefully review existing rules around land use, zoning, and development to ensure they are current, clear, and working for our residents.I want to help ensure our growth is managed well and that we develop thoughtful solutions for the challenges our community will face in the future.

Kris Basilici is a longtime Thomson Township resident and retired Carlton County Recorder. Her husband is originally from Thomson Township, and several years ago, they chose to build their home here.A graduate of the University of St. Catherine, Kris brings years of experience in local government, including serving on committees and working closely with the community. She has also served on boards and committees for the Minnesota County Recorders Association.Kris is running to bring her experience and commitment to the future of Thomson Township. She would be honored to serve the community and work toward building a strong future together.
